This is not something your going to want to hear. Practice. Sure, everyone will say this. Theirs not too much you can do about this, besides these few tips listed below.

1. Team Snipers in Matchmaking
This will get you familiar and better with the sniper faster than anything else. Custom Games will help too, sure. Do you have friends maybe that would like to go better at snipers with you? Perhaps 1 on 1 would be nice for first couple of times. Team Snipers is real good, and should be completed 5 Games A DAY To get used to using the sniper.

2. See A Sniper? Use It!
I know what your thinking. In Slayer, Lone Wolves, Big Team Slayer, your going to want to use easier weapons, and weapons your better with. However, if you want to get better, you need to use the sniper constantly, just like I said above. Use it for at least 3 Kills. You'll be sluggish at first, but you'll get better.

3. Configuration of the Xbox Controller
You need to find a type of control that works for you. I found 'Bumper Jumper' real nice and easy to use. Its even used by some of the best snipers. However, that may not fit you.

4. No High Sensitivity!
High sensitivity (which includes 4-10 is very bad for all weapons, mostly snipers.) Try keeping your sensitivity from 1-2 and you should be set. I suggest 2, but some use 1, which is very slow, but they say it works well.

play odst firefight on easy(so you can kill enmies with one head shot) grab a sniper start sniping. Moving targets that fight against you. This way you dont mess up your rank on halo 3.

i mean for halo, you just have to practice. in cod there are a few tips to help.

Wow dude.. very nice detail. very nice. haha. and Yea All i can say is practice. its what my coach tells me so.. i'll tell others practice. but Team snipers + 1v1s are your best bet. goodluck with your training (:

My Best Advice, is just go into regular games ( team snipers tends to make you go for the body more, so i wouldnt reccomend it ) i got good by just going into MLG / Team Slayer, grabbing the sniper and going to work.
